This page explains the numbers Tax Sale Compass publishes. It is methodology for an information service — not a municipal rulebook and not a promise that any property will trade below market value.

We list municipal tax sale information we have found. Municipalities run the sales. We are not the auctioneer.
Guest users can open inactive property detail pages and use search. Active inventory detail stays Premium-gated.
Province and site counters reflect rows on our file after monitoring municipal notices. They are not a government census and not a marketing round-number.
Some search views may show a capped guest sample (for example a “100 Total Properties” style sample on certain screens). That sample is not the size of the file. The active / sold / inactive counters are the file.
Guest search may also be rate-limited (for example a daily search cap). Limits are product controls, not statements about how many sales exist in Canada.
Counts are live; refreshed on each page load. Province totals below come from the current database file — not a frozen marketing claim.

Named municipalities that may appear when notices are on file include Greenview, Beiseker, Rainbow Lake, Edmonton, Trent Hills, Annapolis County, and Halifax. Their status can change.
We monitor municipal notices and official sources and update the database daily. Sale terms can change after we scrape them. Minimum bid amounts are the municipality’s figures when they print them — often tied to arrears and costs, which is one reason buyers research below-market opportunities. A printed minimum is still not a profit guarantee.
We do not send email alerts. We do not run the auction. A listing on Compass is not a promise of below-market resale profit.
Use the counters to understand the shape of the file. Use the municipality to decide whether to bid or tender — including checking redemption and process timing on that notice. Verify every material fact before you spend money. Compass is information only.
